Fr. Omina Leo Okwormoi
Fr. Omina Leo. Okwormoi was born on April 13th
1958 of Otuho Parents, namely Veronica Iliha
and Julian Inyok Leju Okwormoi in Tuhubak
village. He was baptized in Isohe his home
parish by a Comboni priest on 16th
May 1958. During the first Anyanya war,
Omina was taken to Uganda where he had his
primary education, and when they came back
to Sudan in 1974 got admitted to Chuhudm
Junior Secondary but the school did not open
that year until the following year when he
decided to join St. Mary's minor Seminary in
Torit in 1975. He passed on to St. Mary
Minor Seminary in Nazareth Wau in which he
completed and joined OC and Phil in Bussere
Wau (1981-85) after which he was admitted to
Theology in Juba. He successfully completed
his studies and ordained by His Grace
Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro on Dec 10th
1989. After his ordination Fr. Omina was
appointed to the Teachers college that was
transferred from Torit to Juba due to war.
It was after his second year of priesthood
that he got his appointment to the SCBC
Secretariat but he could not take the office
due to many factors that included lack of
his replacement in the CRTTC where he had to
continue his service even without renewed
appointment after his two years appointment
expired. In 1994 Fr. Omina got a chance of
being released from pastoral activities went
to study in CUEA where he completed a
Licentiate studies in Bth and was appointed
as Parish Priest in Palotaka Parish where he
worked dedicatedly for but about one and a
half year and called back to CUEA by
University authorities and he was seconded
to the staff in CUEA where he served for
four and half year(s) as a financial Aid
coordinator and counselor of students. It
was at this time that he also did and
completed his DPM studies in the same
university. He was called back to the
diocese of Torit (2004) and appointed Parish
Priest of Chukudum.
